As autumn arrives and New Zealand works through the true arrival of the pandemic on our shores, we’ve been thinking again about how to help ourselves stay resilient through tough times.
Adding ease and comfort helps, of course, but when there’s work to get on with, places to be and other people to care for, sometimes what we need more than comfort is the courage and strength to keep stepping up.
For us, dressing is a daily ritual that can either nurture how we feel with softness and comfort, or empower us with beauty to face our day in a brighter mood.
When pulling together our March edit, we chose a palette with elements of lightness and and uplift – like a bright autumn sky scudded with clouds – as well as groundedness and strength – blacks and a deep blue yarn-dye check with a utilitarian note.
We’ve brought in a faded cornflower blue Liberty silk-cotton for our Everyday Blouse, Bow Blouse and Long Preacher Top, blue-and-white My Man Stripes for our Short Bow Blouse and pale ivory, white Swiss Dot and beige shades across the range.
Our Ballet Blouse and Don’t Tie Me Down Blouse try out our weightier yarn-dye check in deep moody blue, and we have a gauzy black organic cotton voile for our Everyday and Bow Blouses.
Finally, we’ve added trans-seasonal autumnal fabrics to the options for our Gentleman Trouser and Waistcoat – a beautifully relaxed natural linen and chic black CK wool.
Whether you’re working from home or the office heading out to collect children or seeing friends and family again we hope the spirit of these pieces elevate your mood for the current season.
