The second Mood from Mahsa, Yesterday Modern, looks back to the women who pioneered the freedoms enjoyed by the women of today. The Mood introduced the concept of modern muses to the Mahsa label, with the launch of the O’Keeffe Dress, a tribute to the groundbreaking feminist artist Georgia O’Keeffe and an instant classic.
The contradictions and complexities of modern womanhood are captured in pieces where utilitarian is juxtaposed with Romanticism, masculinity with femininity, and the importance of dressing to suit or create a mood.
Natural fibres continued to be important, with silk, cotton and wool predominating and herringbone, tweed and earthy tones bringing a grounded softness while giving a nod to traditional British dressing.
